Candle magic is very prevalent, easy to do and universally accepted in some form or another. Based on this, it is befitting to discuss candles. Everyone has seen or used candles at some time in their life. Whether it was for celebrations or mourning, replacement for the light bulb’s brilliance when the electricity is off, or just for some romantic ambience, the list of uses is extensive.
They are ever present in most churches, minus some of the so-called modernised congregations who fly from any material spiritual objects in places of worship, and even if absent are replaced by some form of light-giver. The candle (or light-giver) is truly a universal part of the spiritual experience.
Now to talk about using candles one needs to understand of three things: the representation of wax (or oil), the meaning of colours, and type of candle.
